Artist Talk With Carmen Winant

“Join Fotomuseum Winterthur, Switzerland for a conversation with Carmen Winant. This event is in conjunction with the exhibition Orlando, curated by Tilda Swinton, which is organized by Aperture, New York.

The artist Carmen Winant will provide insights into her work. As a writer and artist, Winant explores the possibilities of feminist uprise against patriarchal structures. Her works in the exhibition Orlando – Based on a Novel by Virginia Woolf, layer images of her naked chest with photographs originally published in Virginia Woolf’s Orlando. Inspired by Woolf’s novel, Winant’s works deal with themes of limitlessness, transience, and self-discovery. In conversation with Nadine Wietlisbach, director Fotomuseum Winterthur, Winant will speak about her work and her working process.”
